Our true passion is the pursuit of backcountry bulls, and we have a demonstrated track record of hunting success. Colorado public land hunting is challenging but infinitely rewarding. Our expert guides and strong horses will do everything they can to ensure your hunt is fulfilling, and to put you on North America’s most majestic large mammals in the truly incredible Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. We provide caring and knowledgeable guides, hearty food, and accommodations in either comfortable canvas wall tents or light spike camps, depending upon the situation. We will utilize horses to cover country and will stalk or setup on foot.
We highly recommend that our clients also purchase a bear tag to increase hunt optionality and opportunity, as our bear populations are very healthy.

Our Colorado drop camps are designed for experienced hunters who want to escape crowded trailheads and access remote public land. Using horses, we pack you and your gear deep into a backcountry camp, allowing you to focus entirely on hunting in prime habitat. Our drop camps are ideal for hunting elk, mule deer and bears.
Each drop camp features a fully furnished canvas wall tent setup, including cots, heat, cookware, tables, chairs, and all essential camp equipment. You’ll enjoy the comfort of a well-established base camp while maintaining the freedom and flexibility of a self-guided hunt.
Once game is harvested, there’s no need to worry about the pack-out. We will transport your meat back to the trailhead, we can also drop it off at a local cooler so the meat stays fresh while you continue hunting.
Drop camps are available for archery, rifle, and muzzleloader seasons, including over-the-counter 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons, as well as draw-only seasons where applicable.
If you’re looking for a remote, comfortable, and logistically supported way to hunt Colorado public land without a guide, our horseback drop camps offer the perfect balance of independence and support.
